Ask what the technique involves and how the provider will judge its usefulness.
Understand the question
Myofascial terminology appears in many hands-on and movement services. Ask the provider to explain the method in ordinary language, including what you will experience and how you can adjust it. A tissue explanation should not substitute for an individual assessment.
Put it in everyday context
If your aim is a more comfortable daily movement, name that movement. Ask how the session relates to it and what follow-up is proposed. Feeling different immediately afterward is one observation, not proof of a lasting structural change.
A comparison to avoid
Accepting an elaborate tissue story without asking how it changes the plan can make the service harder to evaluate.
Your practical checklist
- Request a plain-language explanation
- Describe the activity goal
- Agree on pressure and feedback
- Clarify review criteria
